Well, there have been many things to take place in the last 18+ months since this website was first launched.  First of all, I am definitely getting older and starting to move a little slower -- that is quite OK,  it gives me more time to self-critique my own ideas and work.  Other things that have happened and/or changed are that I have become a juried member of an artists gallery in Lexington, VA -- I have come to discover  and appreciate that the other members of this gallery are some fine and extraordinary people . . .I consider myself lucky to have been brought into the fold.  An opportunity to display some of my items has also been found at the Alleghany Highlands Arts & Crafts Center in Clifton Forge, VA  -- they are truly a great group of people to work with and very accommodating.   The latest recent discovery is being allowed to participate in this year's gallery event at the First Union Universalist Church in Richmond, VA -- again, I have come to find that they are also some very fine and friendly folks.   The last thing that I would like to mention is that I have ventured into learning how to make handcarved hardwood canes.  This has not been easy because it is quite often difficult to get "old dogs" to learn new tricks.   A few of the members at the cooperative gallery, Artists In Cahoots, encouraged me to give it a try, and after some initial tries, critiquing, and employing an "open ear" I feel that I have come to really appreciate this added endeavor.   All I can say at this point in time is that "life is good".   Be safe, be careful, and may God provide you with a good path through life.
